Boerne Middle School

Boerne I.S.D.
Boerne, Texas

Boerne Middle School North, facing an ever-expanding student population, needed additional space to accommodate the growing campus’ needs. They turned to Pfluger Associates  to design an addition at the main entrance to provide more administrative offices. However, the addition required removal of the distinctive 1950s style entry. To preserve the heritage and character of the building, Pfluger recreated the entrance in a stucco homage to the school’s earlier days, which contrasts with the plaster walls and stained concrete floors of the new lobby.

As part of the project, new science labs were built to meet current TEA standards. Existing science labs were converted into standard classrooms. The additions to the campus also included an expanded cafeteria with more seating, additional serving lines and updated kitchen equipment.
