The University of Texas at Austin - Jester Dormitory Second Floor Dining Renovation

The remodel of a portion of the second floor dining facility at Jester Dormitory signifies the University’s continued commitment to providing the state of the art facilities for its students. The redesign of the space promotes the connection between the chef, the staff, and the students in a clean open setting. Chefs cook entrees to serve as students hand them plates. At the side and soup bars, preparation pods, semi-enclosed by glass, allow for students to watch salads and vegetables being prepared out in “front of house.” A floating lantern box and glass doors, that fold from above, create an open entry and smooth traffic flow during peak lunch hours. This remodel also includes the incorporation of a new air handler unit for this space.
